CLYDE – A development permit for an eight-unit apartment complex has been approved, pending any appeals.
Appeals to the variance must be provided to the village by July 25, said Jaye Parrent, development officer for the Village of Clyde.
“There were some questions with respect to what the building actually is,” said Parrent, adding that because the village’s land use bylaw stipulates that anything more than five units in one building is called a dwelling, apartment.
“It’s an apartment complex by nature but really it’s set up like an eight-plex with four units on the top level and four units below.”
There could be more growth in Clyde’s future as interest in the village has increased lately due to available land for sale that is fairly priced, said Parrent.
“I think Clyde certainly is poised for growth. We have definitely seen more interest in recent months for development."
