WESTLOCK – The continuation of a trial for a Westlock County man charged with assault has been delayed until April 2025. It was set to proceed on Oct. 24 but on Oct. 2 court heard that the justice presiding over the case isn’t available that day.

Brian Ranch’s trial had started on July 31 with key Crown witnesses Jeanine Muller and Jeremy Sanchez taking the stand for most of the day.

The Crown has one non-civilian witness left to take the stand and the defence is expected to call four civilian witnesses.

Court heard Sanchez was initially charged with assault against Brian Ranch. The charge was later dropped, and Brian Ranch was charged instead. Ranch is also charged with mischief/causing damage.
