WESTLOCK – A 40-year-old man charged with assault against a peace officer and setting a trap to cause harm is seeking bail.

Cody John King is expected to have a bail hearing in Westlock Court of Justice on Oct. 23.

Edmonton criminal defence lawyer Tyler Raymond went on record as King's counsel for all of his charges in three separate incidents. Max Yuan withdrew as his counsel on one of the incidents where King faced charges of assault with a weapon and mischief/damage under $5,000.

“I’m already his counsel on other matters so it makes sense,” Raymond told the court on Oct. 9.

King also faces charges of break and enter and mischief/obstruction.
