On September 26, 2024 Walter Ross Touchings passed away by his

family at the Westlock Care Center at the age of 96. Walter

was predeceased by his parents Harry and Emma Touchings, his

first wife Donna, his grandson Christopher and his daughter Wendy.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 33 years, Arlene, son Wade and

granddaughter Lindsey, son Bruce, son-in-law Jurgen Roth,

step children Randy (Colleen) Lamble, Dianne (Jim) Beck,

Lorna (Phillip) Miller, Roger (Kelly) Lamble, Linda (Brian) Green,

Darcy Lamble (Wayne), his dear friend Murray

and numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and

great-great-grandchildren.

Walter worked in many places over the course of his career as a

welder and machinist - many knew him as a ‘designer and fixer

of any and all things’. However, his skills extended well beyond

welding - from the knowledge to complete antique farm equipment

restoration to the art of creating jewelry and almost everything

in between.

While he loved life on the acreage at Dapp, he and Arlene also

enjoyed traveling locally and abroad. They took many trips to fishing

spots and auction sales often roaming back roads, as well as taking

on longer adventures traveling with their fifth wheel across most of

Canada and many states, wintering in the Okanogan Valley, cruising

to Alaska and an international trip to New Zealand.

We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude for the

compassionate care provided by the staff of both the Smithfield

Lodge andWestlock Health Care Center.

AtWalter’s request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers

donations can be made in Walter’s memory to:
