Lois Terhorst

Lois Terhorst (née Adkins) died peacefully on April 5, in her 90th year.

She was predeceased by her husband Hardy, and one son Donald (Crystal). She is survived by her two daughters Helen (Gill) and Darleen (Ken); and mourned by five grandchildren: Dalton, John, Damon, Nathan and Cara, and seven great-grandchildren.

She grew up on a farm in what is now the Westlock Golf Course and lived most of her life in Jarvie, where she married Hardy Terhorst in 1948. As a farmer’s wife, she always had a prolific vegetable garden, but her interest in flowers drove her to have one of the most beautiful gardens in the area. She moved to Ponoka ten years ago when Hardy died. She was always an avid reader, even managing to read e-books, in spite of macular degeneration.

She will be interred in the Hazel Bluff Cemetery near Westlock at a later date. Donations on her behalf would be appreciated by a local food bank of your choice. To express condolences to Lois’ family, please visit womboldfuneralhomes.com.
