Stewart Rattray passed away peacefully, March 9, 2025 at the age of 82 years at Extendicare Athabasca, AB.

Stewart was born and raised in Wainwright, Alberta. He moved to Edmonton in the late 1960’s and eventually St. Albert in the 1970’s.

He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Della Rattray and recently his wife Glenna Rattray.

He leaves behind his older sister Myrna Pineo, son Bobby (Rhonda) Rattray, and Glenna’s children Kevin (Donna) Erickson, Melanie (Otto Rottier) Erickson, Shannon Erickson, seven grand children: Kalee (Stephen) Stag, Courtney (Magnus) von Rennenkampff, Miki (Kevin) Hundeby, Candis (Justin) Guay, Chad (Natalie) Rottier, Eric Baxter, Rodney Erickson-Fitl, fourteen great grand children: Rylee, Harvey, Charlee, Pippa, Mio, Thea, Bella, Olive, Ethan, Joshua, Adelynn, Brooklynn, Lucas and Freya.

Stewart first started working as a mechanic at his father’s car dealership in Wainright. In 1969, he completed his Journeyman Apprenticeship Partsman at NAIT. In 1972 Stewart was hired by Standard General in St Albert as their Purchasing and Parts Supervisor and remained there until his retirement. Stewart married Glenna Erickson March 5, 1977 and together, they enjoyed golfing, curling, travelling, shuffleboard, bocce, and spending time at the lake. Stewart was a gentle man who looked forward to visits from his grand and great grandkids, and loved both hearing and telling a good story.

A private celebration of life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations in Stewart’s name may be made to St. Albert Curling Club
