Alina Kowalchuk
August 22, 1929 – July 9, 2020
Alina was born in Warsaw, Poland on August 22, 1929. When she was 9 months old her parents immigrated to Canada and settled north of Athabasca, Alberta.
On June 24, 1950, she married Alec Kowalchuk. Together they farmed and raised a family in the Athabasca area before retiring to Vernon, BC in 1977. She passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on July 9, 2020.
Alina was predeceased by her loving husband Alec and daughter Louise.
She is survived by her brothers Alexander & Earl, sister Irene, and grandsons Tyler, Tyrell, and Tristan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vernon Restholm where Alina called home for the last 5 years as well as personnel and medical staff at Hearthstone Manor and Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their care during her brief stays there.
