KIESER, Laura Marie (nee: Van Brabant)
April 4, 1923 - February 27, 2021
Peacefully surrounded by the love and prayers of her family, Mom passed away February 27, 2021 at the age of 97 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her six children, Claire (Tony) Stitsen, Joyce (Marvin) Brenneis, Gordon (Fran) Kieser, Marlene (David) Andrews, Ronald (Karen) Kieser and Dale (Nadine) Kieser as well as 25 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-laws, Madeleine and Evelyn Van Brabant. She was predeceased by her husband Robert of 56 years, her grandson Robbie Kieser, great grandson Eli Hoven, her brothers Romain, Albert, Andrew and Maurice, her sister Madeline and her parents Aime and Clara.
Our mother will always be remembered for modelling her unconditional love for her family. Her strong faith and devotion to the Rosary has brought blessings to our family. Mom was an active member of St. Charles Parish and a CWL member for 60 years. Her service to her church (Mearns) and her community was a legacy which she continued on at the Heritage Lodge in Morinville where she resided for 12 years until her passing. Mom wrapped us in her warm love with the quilts she crocheted and filled us with her delicious cinnamon buns and date squares. She was loved by many.
A Visitation was held between 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 5th, 2021 at the Westlock Funeral Home 10004 – 105 Street, Westlock, AB. Appointments must be made by calling 780-349-3474 prior to viewing.
Due to current Covid restrictions a Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday March 6, 2021 for the immediate family only. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Donation may be made in memory of Laura to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (Mearns) Cemetery Fund #13 56500 RR 263A, Sturgeon County, AB T8R 0Y2.
We thank all the kind staff at the Heritage Lodge in Morinville. A Special thank-you to Dr. Haines, Dr. Coulson, all the nursing staff on the east wing at the Westlock Healthcare Centre, especially Anja, Marianne, Fiona and Christy for their Compassion and loving care. It truly was a gift. Thank-you also to Reverend Jonnel for his kind and loving visit to Mom with the Blessing of the Sick. Thank you to Reverend Mahesh for celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial for mom and our family.
