HULA, WILLIAM
Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, William Hula, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2025, at the age of 87.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Dorothy, brother, Alex Hula, sister, Mary McNamara, and parents, Alec and Mary Hula.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son; Dan (Glennis) Hula; daughters: Kim (Jerome) Hula-Hetu, and JoAnn (Cliff) Hula-Atkinson; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.
Bill was born in Prosperity, Alberta on August 23, 1937. He grew up on the family farm in Grassland. He attended the University of Alberta and taught throughout the province. He was vice-principal in Lac La Biche, and vice-principal and then principal in Dapp for the remainder of his teaching career. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and curling, but his greatest joy was his family. He was a loving dedicated husband for 64 years, and his retirement with Dorothy was filled with many road trips to visit family and friends, and to just have adventures.
He was the most kind, gentle, funny, loyal, accepting, giving, talented, forgiving, caring man we have ever known. He gave respect and received it. He was forever curious and he loved to learn and teach. People loved being around him. He loved and was loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Bill's name to the Westlock Continuing Care Centre for specialized equipment purchase.
