DURSTLING, Loretta Kathleen
August 27, 1935 - January 8, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Loretta Durstling (Schlachter) on January 8th at the age of 89. She will be remembered by her daughters, Sharon (Terry O’Donnell), Sandra, and Janet (Larry Lutz); sons, Brian (Carole Janke) and Darwin; as well as 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Loretta was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Durstling.
Loretta was born in Rimbey, AB. She married Alfred Durstling on November 12, 1954, and together they raised their family in Westlock. Once their children were grown, they moved back to the Pickardville area as a couple. Loretta had a love for reading, cooking, gardening, and a knack for being able to remove any stain with a smile. There was never a day after school when fresh treats were not available in her kitchen, as she is remembered to be the best baker there ever was. She had a talent for sewing, quilting, and crafting, leaving her love behind with each and every stitch. In most recent years, Loretta called Long Term Care her home, where she enjoyed the activities, visiting during meals, and the friendship of the staff.
