Adrienne June “Dee” Campbell
Adrienne “Dee” June Campbell died March 13, 2024 in Westlock. She was born in 1938 in Liverpool, England to William and Florence Love. She and husband Alan Campbell had two children, Andrea and William. After divorce, Adrienne immigrated to Canada with her children and extended family. Dee worked at the Barrhead hospital from 1968 until retirement when she immersed herself in quilting, knitting, writing, painting, singing, travel, and doting on her grandchildren. She volunteered as facilitator with CNIB and was always prepared to help anyone in need. Whether standing in goal for her son’s road hockey, providing tea and tissues to worried parents in the waiting room of the emergency department, visiting loved ones in care, running errands, assisting an overwhelmed stranger with crying children on a plane, or providing an informal foster home for kids in challenging situations, Dee never hesitated to act, she simply provided assistance and comfort where it was needed. If she could have, she’d have mothered the whole world.
She is mourned by her daughter Andrea, granddaughters Ainsley (Dan) and Madison (Chase), great grandchildren Mahlia and Mateo, and extended family she always kept in her heart regardless of distance or time apart.
Adrienne is predeceased by her beloved parents William and Florence Love, niece Mandy Close, fiancée Jim Symons, and sister Florence Close.
Thanks to the staff at Westlock Continuing Care Centre for providing care to Dee for the past fourteen months and for ensuring family were present during her transition and final hours.
At Dee’s request, there will be no service.
