Bukieda, Anthony “Tony”
1929-2021
The family of Anthony Bukieda, of St. Albert, is saddened to announce his passing at the age of 92 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edith; son, Trevor (Carolyn) Bukieda; daughter, Cynthia (Dean) Thompson; grandchildren, Katelyn Bukieda, Brielle Bukieda (Andreas Yiallouros), Olivia (Brad) Ward, Brenna Thompson (Kris Kozjak); sister, Olia Yuzel; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Tony was born in Nestow, AB, attending Grades 1-8 at Balm Hill School in Vega, AB, then finishing secondary schooling in nearby communities. He was a member of the Edmonton Police Service from 1954-1966, then returned to farming until 1976. His dream of building and owning a hotel was realized, and in 1979 the Wheatfield Inn in Kitscoty, AB, opened. He remained in the hotel business until retirement in 1999. The next 12 years were spent living in Blackfoot, AB, followed by a move to St. Albert.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in Anthony Bukieda’s name to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation at www.stollerykids.com.
