Catherine Marie Bouchard
July 27th, 1919 ~ November 24th, 2020
“Oh, to be young and free again like when I was 95.” So lamented aunty after breaking her hip at age 99.
Catherine was born into a farming family 101 years ago. The last of 10 children. She was predeceased by her mother, Marie (nee h’Hirondelle) in February 1920, her father, Wilfred Sr. in 1938, brothers Jean-Baptiste (1898-1991), Lionel (1900-1915), Wilfred A (1906-2000), Joseph (1910-1998), Adelard (1912-1936), sisters Marcelline (1902-1958), Zepherine (1904-1997), Delima (1908), and Simone (1914-1931).
Destiny was set early when Catherine’s mother died a few months after Catherine was born. Catherine shared most of her life on the farm with her oldest sister Marcelline and her oldest brother Jean-Baptiste. Catherine will be buried between their grave sites, with a private service in Vimy, Alberta.
Among friends and relatives left to remember Catherine, are a nephew, Lionel Foreman (Anne), grand niece Annik, and grand nephews Daniel and Collin, all of Edmonton. Also, Flourette Collins, grand nephews John and Mathew, and grand niece Jennifer and Sarah, all of Calgary. Also are her nephews and nieces on the west coast, the children of her brother Wilfred A, including Laurier, Oliver, Lorraine, Germaine, Sylvia, and Claudette.
