ATHABASCA — Police have charged 62-year-old Athabasca County resident Glen Morin in relation to an Oct. 25 traffic stop that left one officer injured and resulted in a three-day search for two men.
Morin was arrested by Athabasca and Boyle RCMP officers during the execution of a search warrant Monday, Oct. 28, and was remanded into custody due to adjournment. He will appear in court tomorrow, Oct. 30, in Westlock Court of Justice.
Charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, flight from a peace officer, refusing a breath screening, failure to stop after an incident causing bodily harm, and aggravated assault on a peace officer were laid against Morin Oct. 29.
Morin was one of two men in a white truck pulled over Oct. 25 after a report of a suspicious vehicle. After refusing to provide identification to the officer, Morin, who had a hunting rifle in the cab of the truck, fled the scene of the stop, resulting in minor injuries to the officer.
RCMP requested the help of the public in locating the truck and the two men over the next three days. Public information officer Cst. Cory Riggs said while the police are attempting to locate the passenger, they are not requesting tips at this time.
