One youth has pleaded guilty to attempted murder in an attack against an 18-year-old woman in Long Island Lake.

The youth, who can't be identified due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was brought into Westlock Court of Justice on April 23 where his sentencing date has been set for Sept.10. He is currently being held at Alberta psychiatric hospital where he has been given a psychological assessment to determine if he is eligible for youth sentencing.

This comes after his three alleged accomplices pleaded not guilty to the charges.

They are accused of taking the women into the wooded area where they brutally assaulted and left her for dead in September of 2024.

The four teens have been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, attempted murder, possession of a dangerous weapon and failure to comply with release conditions.
