WESTLOCK - After suffering a 15-12 loss to the Barrhead Orioles in their first game together on May 22, the Westlock Red Lions were able to take revenge during their June 6 home game, handing Barrhead a 11-7 loss at Keller Field.
The first inning was a flurry of action, with the Red Lions scoring a total of seven runs to Barrhead's three. They managed to hold on to that lead throughout the game thanks to some solid defence and racking up additional runs in the second, third and fifth innings.
The Red Lions were also supposed to have a game on June 4 against the St. Albert Cardinals, but it was postponed due to poor weather.
With that victory, Westlock's 2024 season record within the North Central Alberta Baseball League (NCABL) now stands at three wins and four losses.
This week, the Red Lions have a single game scheduled this week for Thursday, June 13, when they will host the St. Albert Cardinals at Keller Field. The game starts at 7:15 p.m.
