WESTLOCK – A dog named Tank has been designated a dangerous dog in Westlock Court of Justice on Nov. 6 after the dog attacked and bit a person in Westlock earlier this year.

Dustin Travis Badke said that he wasn’t the owner of the dog, but admitted to having care and control of the animal on May 21, at the time of the attack. He said that he was walking the dog.

The court reduced the $2,500 fine to $1,000. If Badke doesn’t pay, he will serve eight days in jail in default.

The details of the attack and dog bite weren’t read into the court record during the joint submission by Crown and defence.

Justice Carrie-Ann Downey also issued the dangerous dog order.
