WESTLOCK – Parts of Westlock County are still without power following a short but strong windstorm blew through the region last night.

FortisAlberta currently has crews in the area dealing with downed and inoperable lines following the event, which caused a variety of damage and a mass casualty incident at a temple near Busby,

Nine hundred and forty-eight customers are impacted by the outage, which Fortis is hoping to resolve by 8 p.m. tonight. The Town of Legal and northwest Sturgeon County bore the brunt of the damage, but residents in south east Westlock County, as well as residents along Highway 2 south of Vimy are also impacted.

“Watch out for crews working on roadsides, and call 310-9473 to report any safety concerns,” said the corporation in a release earlier this morning.
