WESTLOCK – Westlock County has updated its website to improve it after launching its new website last year.

The county’s new and improved website went live on Jan. 29. It was first updated in April 2024 to include the Strategic Plan Public Dashboard, an interactive, user-friendly platform that residents can use to see the county’s 2023-26 Strategic Plan achievements.

“That’s awesome,” said Reeve Christine Wiese during their regular meeting on Jan. 28. “One of our big things as council was communication and to be able to get out to our residents more, and it was frustrating because we thought we did a great job on updating our website and then when you started working on it, it was as actually just as frustrating as the other one.

“This is great to see that we are improving on it, even if it took a step in between,” she added.

Meagan Smith, the county’s communications coordinator and executive assistant, said that in January 2024, the county had started looking at ways to make their website more functional, adding that the improvements now make the website “a little bit more accessible and easier for residents.”
