CLYDE – Two revisions to Clyde’s Temporary Visitors RV Parking Policy were discussed at the Village of Clyde’s Policy and Priorities Meeting on Feb. 24.

The bylaw addresses concerns by residents about people living in RVS in the village. The bylaw forces people to get permits to stay in an RV for up to only 14 days.

Chief Administrative Officer Jaye Parrent said the Temporary Visitors RV Parking Policy will be brought to council’s next regular meeting to consider amendments. One is to relax the setback from the property line from 10 feet to three feet and the second amendment is to add a stipulation that the approved permit must be displayed prominently in the window of the RV.

A public hearing was held in February on the village’s proposed amendments to its Land Use Bylaw (LUB) which included new restrictions on parking recreational vehicles (RVs).

Under the new rules, anyone wanting to park an RV in the village will need to apply for a temporary visitor permit.
