VAN HEES, John Harry

John Harry Van Hees of Boyle, Alberta, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on February 17, 2025. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 70 years, Mary Ellen, in 2022, his son Kenneth in 2024 and granddaughter Corinne in 2016.

John is survived by his four children, Penny, Doug, Frances, Kathy and their spouses, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

John was one of 8 children and is survived by his younger brother Derek who lives on Vancouver Island.

John purchased the lake lot on Skeleton Lake in 1968 and became a permanent resident in the mid 80’s. He loved the lake and the surrounding area and was active in work and play. He loved seeing his kids grow up here along with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a strong force in our lives and we will miss him.
