Bryan Stephen Rakoz

With great sadness and hearts heavy with love the family announces the passing of Bryan Stephen Rakoz on May 23, 2024, at the age of 78.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Linda, his children: Bart (Danielle), Rilayna (Randy), Kyall (Jonathan), his grandchildren: Jonah (Richelle), Emma (Joseph), Isabelle, Moses, Bronwyn, Josef, Nadya, John, Sonya, his great-grandchildren: Isaac, Peter, Luke, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Tekla, his brother Robert, and his sister Cheryl.

Born in Camrose, AB and raised on a farm near Daysland, Bryan’s zest for life took him across the globe to Europe, Australia, Arizona, and the top of countless mountains with Lake Louise and the Canadian Rockies his particular favorite. Joyful teacher and passionate coach, he inspired many and shared his wisdom with generosity. He wore many hats in his life: athlete, coach, golfer, artist, builder, jokester; but he will be most treasured for his big heart and absolute dedication to his family. Planter of trees and ideas, he left the world more beautiful than he found it.

A private family service will be held. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation may do so to the R.F. Staples School Athletics Program, 10015 - 104 St, Westlock, AB T7P 1T8.
