Curtis Mathew N. Lopez
1939 - 2024
On January 1, 2024, Curtis was released from his sufferings which were caused by a neurological disease known as progressive supranuclear palsy for which there is no effective treatment.
Curtis was born in Halifax, NS., the oldest of five boys; he is survived by his wife Olga, two brothers and an extended family that includes nieces and nephews. Curtis joined the Royal Canadian Air Force after completing high school. Trained as a radar technician, he was stationed on various bases including Baden, Germany where he met his future wife.
In the late seventies the radar technician became a novice farmer and with help of family and friends began a small cow/calf operation in the Dapp area.
In 2014 the couple moved to Westlock due to Curtis’s health issues. The last 2 ½ years Curtis spent at the Westlock Long Term Care Centre.
We thank Dr. Mydean and the LTC staff for their guidance and assistance.
Cremation has taken place.
