Alex Joseph Brenneis
September 15, 1929 – December 23, 2024
It is with sadness, love, and the knowledge of a life well lived that we announce the passing of Alex on December 23, 2024, at the age of 95.
He is fondly remembered by his daughters Faye Brenneis, Darcie (Mike) Demchuk, Jo Ann (Dwayne) Granger, and Carla Cantrell; grandchildren Matt (Rilee) Granger, Cole (Megan) Granger, Robyn (Brendan) Sheehan, Ellyn (Conor) Speers, and Ross Oleski; great grandchildren, Caleb Granger, Harlyn Granger, Jake, Erika, Kylyn and Rebeka Sheehan, Anna, Henry, Jack and Violet Speers. Alex’s siblings Oliver Brenneis and Vera Soetaert, sisters-in-law Carol Henry, Connie Brenneis, Johanna Brenneis and many dear nephews and nieces also mourn his passing.
Alex was predeceased by his loving wife Vivian in 1999, parents Ed and Elise, brothers Maurice (Theresa), Dan (Grace), Ralph, Oscar (Alexandria), Norman, sister Violet (Alf) Hermanutz, sister-in-law Louise Brenneis and brother-in-law Hector Soetaert.
Thank you to the staff at the Westlock Community Health Centre for their extraordinary care of Alex in his final months.
A funeral mass was held on Monday, December 30, 10:30 AM at St. Charles Parish, Mearns, 56500 Range Road 263A, Sturgeon County.
