Bendrien, Fritz Siegfried
It is with heavy hearts and much love that the family of Fritz Siegfried Bendrien announce his peaceful passing in the Barrhead Hospital on June 8, 2024 at the age of 93.
Fritz will be forever remembered by Marion (nee Maxwell) his wife of 71 years and his 4 children: Marie (Doug) Hayes, Skip, Lou (Ron) DeCoste and Dwight (Shawna). Fritz will also be greatly missed by his 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Mary Woods.
Fritz was born on the homestead in Meadowview, Alberta, on August 2, 1930, the fourth child of seven to Fritz Sr. and Olga Bendrien. Always a country boy at heart he found solace in working the land and tending to his cattle. Because of his natural ability to repair anything with a motor, he was often called upon by friends and neighbors. His work ethics were incomparable. As proprietor of Meadowview General Store from 1962-1974 and then the owner of gravel trucks, he proved to have good business sense. Fritz enjoyed gardening, fishing and refinishing antiques. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and laughing at his own jokes.
The family is grateful to the staff at the Barrhead Hospital for their professional care and compassion that was shown during Fritz’s time there.A sincere appreciation to Dr.Tawfik for his exceptional and devoted care over the years. Final arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home. A special thank you to Gary Lynn and staff for their support.
