ARNDT, Eleonore Hita Emilie

February 14, 1936 - June 3, 2024

With deep sadness, the family of Eleonore “Laurie” Hita Emilie Arndt (nee Tomm) of Barrhead, AB, announce her passing on June 3, 2024, at the age of 88 years.

She is survived by her loving family; her 5 children, Kenneth (Linda) Arndt, Anna (Robert) Harke, Allan (Kathy) Arndt, Linda (Dwight) Greilach, and David Arndt; 9 grandchildren, Christopher (Stephanie) Arndt, Jennifer (Kaylon) Mathias, Brent Harke, Melissa (Andrew) Graham, Timothy Greilach (Mickyla Pierunek), Nicole Greilach (Keldon Manwelder), Rodney Greilach (Cassidy Davis), Robin Greilach (Russell Williams) and Randy Arndt; 12 great-grandchildren, Maddie Arndt, Dale Anne Graham, Magnolia Graham, Andie Graham, Graham Davis, Kaitlin Manwelder, Grayden Manwelder, Abbiejean Williams, Parker Williams, and William Greilach; her sister Anna (Edward) Arndt; and brothers, Arthur Tomm and Gustav Tomm; sisters-in-law Jean Tomm, Inga Arndt, and Tove Arndt; brother-in-law, Edmund Dembinski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

Eleonore was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur Arndt, parents Gustav and Emilia Tomm; brothers, Leopold Tomm, Rudolf Tomm, Edward Tomm, Oscar Tomm; sisters-in-law, Ethel Dembinski, Lilly Kadatz, Ella Anderson; brothers-in-law, Oscar Arndt, Emil Arndt, Eric Kadatz, Andy Anderson; nieces, Agnes Kadatz, Gayle Dembinski; nephews, Kenneth Anderson, Peter Arndt, Kevin Dembinski, and Dean Tomm.

At Eleonore’s request, a private family Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Benjamin Wyatt officiating. Interment follows at the Lunnford Cemetery.

Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Lunnford Cemetery, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Barrhead Associated Ambulance, Cross Cancer Institute, or to charity of choice.
