The Canadian Tractor Museum has been pleased to host the Alberta Women’s Institute Exhibit from May to August. This amazing history of farm women is displayed on 22 storyboards from the Alberta Provincial Archives, and the are two additional display boards from our local Alberta Women’s Institute club – Echo Hill – the last active club in this area.

This local club won second place at a national safety competition when they marked all farm machinery in our area with reflective tape. So, when your headlights shine off the reflective tape, remember it all started here.

Echo Hill Women’s Institute has been active since 1936 and proudly erected a sign on the west side of Hwy 44, 11.5 miles south of Westlock, at the old site of the Echo Hill community.  This exhibit will be returning to the archives at the end of July – see it while it is here.
