ATHABASCA/BARRHEAD/WESTLOCK - Due to the extremely low temperatures, all buses were cancelled in Aspen View Public Schools and the Pembina Hills School Division today, Jan. 12.
Although a number of routes had been cancelled on Thursday, the decision was made at the divisional level on Friday morning to cancel all bus routes due to the temperatures falling below -40C.
in both divisions, schools remained open to accept students.
An extreme cold warning for the regions of Athabasca, Barrhead and Westlock had been issued by Environment Canada on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
