With just 35 constituencies remaining, CBC is projecting the United Conservative Party will form a majority government under Danielle Smith's leadership.
By 11:15 p.m. on Monday evening, the UCP had won 33 seats, compared to just 20 for the NDP. In Alberta, a party must win 44 seats to have a majority.
As many pollsters projected, ridings in Edmonton went the way of the NDP, with essentially all ridings outside of the two major Alberta cities going the way of the UCP.
In 2019, the UCP formed a majority government with 63 seats, compared to 24 for the NDP.
