BARRHEAD - The Neerlandia Girls Eagles took the gold medal at the Barrhead Composite High School (BCHS) Senior Jaguar Basketball Tournament championship, defeating the home team 35-15 on Jan. 20.
The Eagles got to the finals with three straight wins, starting with Athabasca's Edwin Parr and Westlock's R.F. Staples.
On the boys' side, Barrhead took third place, defeating their Highway 18 rivals, the Westlock R.F. Staples Thunderbirds.
