Some of Junior exhibitors first showed their entries at the Barrhead Beef Bash on Sept. 28 prior to attending the Junior Show at Farmfair 50 Anniversary show.

ALBERTA - The Farmfair 50 anniversary event was held in Edmonton from Wednesday, Nov. 6 to Saturday, Nov. 9 causing quite the stir among breeders from Alberta and all over Canada.

Farms and ranches from the Barrhead, Westlock and Athabasca region had their young beef exhibitors show heifers in the 2024 Farmfair 50th Anniversary Junior Show.

Farmfair has had one of the top cattle shows for 50 years, advertising the highest prizes purse in Canada, $300,000 in beef programs.

Brynne Yoder form Cinder Angus commented about Farmfair, “The numbers in every breed were like astronomical. It was amazing!”

Cinder Angus was named Champion and Reserve Champion in the Commercial Division.

Brynne Yoder with Cinder Angus entry Bluey won Champion Commercial Yearling Heifer and Reserve Champion Commercial divisions.

Vivian Mackenzie with DC Farms won second place in the Commercial Yearling Heifer division with her entry Sadie.

Tavianne Yoder with Cinder Angus won first place Split 3 Purebred Senior Heifer Calf with their entry Red Cinder Freyja 1129M.

Mason Zwicker with breeder Jayden& Jaxon Payne won second place in the Spilt 2 Purebred Senior Calf with their entry Greenwood Miss Essence 69M.

Bronwyn Zwicker-Barrhead, representing Shadybrook Farms won first place in the Purebred Senior Yearling Heifer division with their entry Holland Lane Eva Leah 1L.

Bronwyn Zwicker-Barrhead, representing JT Livestock & Pincher Creek Cattle Company won first place in the Purebred Senior Yearling Heifer division with their entry Holland Lane Eva Leah 1L.

In the Split Purebred Senior Heifer Calf division Nate Rigney with Dungannon Stock Farm won third place with his entry Dungannon Magic Show 6M ET and Jada Rigney won fifth in the same category with her entry Dungannon Mystery 5M ET.

Jada Rigney with Dungannon Stock Farm won second place in the Split 2 Purebred Junior Heifer Calf with her entry Dungannon Mystic Maid 23M.

Nate Rigney-Westlock representing Dungannon Stock Farm won third place in the Split 1 Purebred Senior Yearling Heifer division with his entry Dungannon Flashy Isobel 7L.

Chloe Robertson-Clyde representing Tierra Sol Cattle Company won second place in the Split 2 Purebred Junior Yearling Heifer division with her entry Clover Hill Lily 40L.

Wyatt McKay-Tiger Lily with Masterloc Simmentals won fifth place in the Split 1 Purebred Junior Yearling Heifer division with his entry Masterloc PFF Ms Lettie 25L.

Ella McKay-Tiger Lily with Bohrson Marketing Services won fifth place in the Split 1 Purebred Junior Yearling Heifer division with his entry Masterloc PFF Ms. Lettie 25L.
