Environment Canada is expecting severe thunderstorms across the northeast region in Alberta following favourable conditions over the past few days.
In a 1:15 p.m. release, the federal agency said favourable conditions increased the likelihood of storms capable of producing strong wind gust, large hail, and heavy rain.
The storms are expected to develop this afternoon and will diminish later this evening.
If threatening weather approaches, be prepared to take cover immediately.
Impacted communities include Wandering River, Calling Lake, and the M.D. of Lesser Slave River.
