WESTLOCK – The Westlock Art Show was held on Dec. 6 and 7 with numerous exquisite art pieces on display.
“We have a lot of painters who are just awesome,” remarked Linda Corbett, president of the Westlock Art Club.
There are 26 artists currently in the group.
They have sessions at the Westlock Spirit Center upstairs every Friday.
Corbett invited everyone to stop by on Fridays to sit in on a session or try your hand at painting.
If you have any interest in art or are interested in talking about art, the group invites all interested in the arts to come by for a visit.
There were three different mosaics on display at the show.
There are art projects where multiple artists join together to complete a tile as part of a larger work of art.
“Artists from 7 to 90 years old participated in the hockey player mosaic,” Betty-Anne Rufiange explained. She joined the club in September.
Several of the artists display their work at the Spirit Center and these pieces can be seen on Fridays.
Other beautiful paintings are displayed at the hospital.
The Westlock Art Club does several different kinds of art and features schedules of when different classes are happening on their Facebook page.
This year they have offered a paverpol workshop where a unique figurine is created that can be an indoor or outdoor piece of your own art.
Watercolour and oil workshops have been held. There have been kids painting and card-making classes with all of the materials supplied.
