WESTLOCK — Westlock and area residents will have an opportunity to learn more community groups, clubs and organizations when the town’s annual Registration Night returns to the fieldhouse at the Rotary Spirit Centre on Sept. 5.

“Registration night is a great way for people from Westlock and the surrounding areas to check out the different types of programs and resources that are offered in the town,” said Rotary Spirit Centre supervisor Courtney Fedrau.

Usually held just after Labour Day, the Thursday night event this year will give families a bit more time to settle into fall routines as children begin school following the long weekend, which is often a very busy time for families, noted Fedrau.

Registration night will take place in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and will feature more than a dozen area groups, clubs and organizations. Representatives from participating groups and organizations will be on hand to provide information and resources and answer any questions that residents may have.

“There’ll be everything from sporting teams and user groups that use the Spirit Centre as well as other sports around the town, and there’ll be some other resources for families,” said Fedrau.
