CLYDE – The village’s proposed amendments to its Land Use Bylaw (LUB) which includes new restrictions on parking recreational vehicles (RVs), were presented at a public hearing on Feb. 11, but no public feedback was received.
The hearing was scheduled after council gave first reading to the amendments last month. The amendments are aimed at addressing public complaints about RV’s being parked long-term in the village with people living in them.
Under the new rules, RVs will be restricted to parking no more than two weeks at a time. In addition, anyone wanting to park an RV in the village will need to apply for a temporary visitor permit.
During council’s regular meeting on Jan. 13, Chief Administrative Officer Jaye parent told council that the amendments would provide clarity to the existing bylaw. The revisions also include definitions for campground, recreational park, drive way pad, park, parking pad, recreational vehicle or vehicle.
Following the public hearing on Feb. 11, the amendment passed second and final reading during council’s regular meeting.
