WESTLOCK — A total of 15 Westlock County and Town of Westlock firefighters were on scene for much of the day on March 11 battling a structure fire in the community of Pibroch.
Westlock County fire chief John Biro said the fire occurred at a dwelling which "sustained total fire loss," as the fire was well-seated upon arrival. It quickly spread to all areas within the home and defensive fire actions were initiated due to safety factors.
Biro said the cause of the fire is believed to be a secondary heat source. The Westlock RCMP have also confirmed the fire was not considered to be suspicous.
No injuries or death occurred as a result of the blaze. Biro said firefighters were on scene for approximately six hours.
