Westlock County firefighters remained on the scene of a large forest fire in the Clyde area May 15, nearly two days after it started.
Acting county fire chief Roberta Halliday said 16 members from the department were on scene Friday.
“There are some from Fawcett, Clyde, and Busby,” Halliday said. “It’s all from the county fire protection area.”
Halliday said at last count 38 hectares of forest had burned, although the fire is pretty well under control and should soon be extinguished.
“We’re hoping today (Friday) but no guarantees … it’s fairly well contained.”
