CLYDE – In an effort to stimulate growth and improve the community for future generations, Clyde’s rebranding is moving forward.

The initiative is expected to be completed by late summer or the early fall.

“We are hoping to have something to present to council on Sept. 9,” said Clyde Development Officer Jaye Parrent.

The village retained Fort Saskatchewan-based marketing company unfussy to develop the village’s brand.

“They are doing engagement with the community and getting their perspective on what makes Clyde Clyde. We are really excited about it and see what they bring forward for our community.”

The rebranding is part of Clyde’s strategic plan, said Parent.

One of the plan’s visions is to create local opportunity, growth and empower prosperity for the future. Their mission is foster economic growth and inspire high quality of living in the community. To reach this goal, they need a marketing strategy for both residential opportunities and encourage new business development.

Clyde has an estimated population of 394 people. The village’s website says that its population is about the same that it was 20 years ago.

In addition, its comparatively small non-residential tax base can be challenging when it comes to investing and re-investing in infrastructure amenities and sustainable growth and prosperity beyond that of a simple bedroom community, according to the village’s website.
