CLYDE – Council revised its personnel policy during their regular meeting on Dec. 9 after a shift in employee’s working hours.
The Village of Clyde will remain as an incorporated municipality following council’s May 16 decision.

CLYDE – Council revised its personnel policy during their regular meeting on Dec. 9 after a shift in working hours for some employees.

The revised policy recognizes that some employees have had a change in the hours of their regular work week. The revisions to the policy address overtime as well as the definition of a full-time and part-time employees, Clyde’s Chief Administrative Officer Jaye Parrent told council.

“The personnel policy just needs a couple of changes,” she said.

A full-time employee is now defined as someone who works a minimum of 30 hours a week or 1,560 hours annually. A part-time employee is defined as an employee who works less than 30 hours a week of 1,559 hours a year.

The regular hours for full-time administration and summer public employee works employees is 7.5 hours a day. Public works staff hours are eight hours a day.

Overtime is defined as working more than eight hours a day or 40 hours a week, whichever is greater. Statutory holiday hours will be paid at two times the regular rate of pay and is limited to approved or emergency work only.

In the event of extreme temperatures, public works employees will implement the workplace temperature safety procedure and their regular work hours may be temporarily shifted to accommodate safe outdoor work.
