BREAKING: Highway 2 reopen after fatal collision

A 71-year-old Edmontonian was airlifted to a hospital and a 29-year-old woman is dead following a collision on Highway 2 earlier today.

Highway 2 has reopened after a fatal collision occurred at Range Road 251, between Clyde and Nestow, earlier today.

According to an April 7 release, the Westlock RCMP are still investigating the cause of the collision, which took the life of a 29-year-old female resident of Westlock County, and left a 71-year-old Edmontonian in serious, life-threatening condition. He was evacuated to a hospital by STARS

The RCMP were on scene for most of the day conducting an investigation, but they are now clear of the scene and normal traffic has resumed.

The Alberta RCMP give their sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.
