Wings of Hope – Calgary
Wings of Hope is a registered charitable organization dedicated to providing financial relief and support to breast cancer patients. Their primary focus is on individuals who are receiving or have received treatment from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. With the aim of allowing patients to focus on their recovery, Wings of Hope offers three different programs to assist with various financial needs. In addition to their assistance programs, Wings of Hope also runs the Gift of Hope program, which aims to bring joy and relief during the holiday season. Baskets filled with gift cards, personal items, and donated gifts are provided to help alleviate some of the stress that patients may experience during treatment.
Alberta Cancer Foundation – Edmonton
The Alberta Cancer Foundation is the official fundraising partner for all Cancer Care Alberta cancer centers. They work towards creating more moments for Albertans facing cancer by providing funding and support.
Wellspring Cancer Support – Calgary & Edmonton
Wellspring Cancer Support offers a variety of evidence-informed programs and services to meet the non-medical needs of cancer patients, their caregivers, and families. These programs fall into six main pillar areas:
- Information and education
- Symptom management
- Therapeutic arts
- Financial and workplace strategies
- Individual and group support
- Exercise and movement
The organization aims to create a supportive community and ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. They offer support to anyone living with any type of cancer at any stage of their journey.
Sorrentino’s Compassion House – Edmonton
Compassion House Foundation, operating Sorrentino's Compassion House, is an organization that supports women who need to leave their homes for cancer treatment in Edmonton. They provide more than just accommodations by offering a haven and ongoing support post-treatment.
Canadian Breast Cancer Network
The Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) is a patient-directed national breast cancer health charity. Their mission is to advocate for breast cancer patients by voicing their concerns, providing education, and promoting information sharing. CBCN offers a wide range of resources. They provide information on breast cancer basics, treatment and side effects, prosthetics, and reconstruction, as well as living with both early-stage and metastatic breast cancer. Through educational events, digital magazines, and more, they strive to empower individuals with knowledge.
