WATER RATE CHANGE Athabasca Town Council has passed a Utility Amendment Bylaw (009-2024) to increase the current water rates in town. This is due to the rate increase the Town is seeing from the Aspen Regional Water Services Commission.

WATER RATE CHANGE Athabasca Town Council has passed a Utility Amendment Bylaw (009-2024) to increase the current water rates in town. This is due to the rate increase the Town is seeing from the Aspen Regional Water Services Commission. Residential water rates will be increasing from a minimum charge of $26.88 per billing (every two months), to $28.22 per billing (5m3). As outlined in Section 6.2, a charge shall be levied on all metered water in excess of minimum usages as follows: 18 m3 or less $5.6448/m3 from $5.3760/m3 18.1 - 45 m3 $5.8102/m3 from $5.5335/m3 Over 45 m3 $6.3967/m3 from $6.0921/m3 The sewer rate will be increased from 36% to 40% of water consumption charge for that billing period. The utility distribution charge will be increased from $25.00 to $30.00 per billing. These increases are effective as of December 1st, 2024 and will be reflected on the next Utility Bills that will be sent out in February
