Annual Assessment Inspections Begin Mid-June Request for Proposal - HWY 63 Road Rescue Services Athabasca County invites qualified service providers to respond to the following Request for Proposal (RFP) regarding the provision of road rescue services on Highway 63 as detailed in the following RFP. The County’s objectives with respect to Highway 63 Road Rescue Services are as follows: • Alleviate strain on volunteer first responders by having a full[1]time (24-hour, 7 day per week) resource available based out of Wandering River. • Provide a consistent and sustainable level of service to the residents and visitors of both Athabasca County and Lac La Biche County. • Ensure the needs (specifically road rescue and medical first response) of the Highway 63 economic corridor and its travelers are satisfied. For more information please visit www.AthabascaCounty.com As part of the Weed Control Act, Athabasca County works with property owners to help control the spread of weeds along municipal roads and on private property. Weed inspectors are out completing noxious weed inspections within the County and identifying any potential locations that require control. Crews are working with landowners to control infestations and the spot control of weeds is taking place along municipal right of ways. Our Agricultural Services Department offers help identifying weed species and can provide recommendations to deal with infestations. We also rent various pieces of equipment to assist property owners in controlling weed infestations. For more information please visit www.AthabascaCounty.com 2024 Weed Inspections & Equipment Rentals 2024 Fence Line Spray Program Applications Open Until June 30th 2024 Athabasca County’s Fence Line Spraying Program is accepting applications until June 30th 2024. The program helps to control noxious weeds along fence lines and headlands. This program complements the annual roadside spray program, which controls brush, noxious and prohibited noxious weeds along County right of ways. (AAG) will be conducting a General Assessment to inspect all properties on behalf of Athabasca County starting mid June 2024. Please be aware that Assessors will be taking pictures and walking the properties. They will not require access into your home or buildings. The Assessors will be in marked vehicles with the Athabasca County logo on doors and wearing photo ID under Accurate Assessment Group Ltd. All inspections shall be conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If property owners have any questions, they are encouraged to call the Assessor’s office 780-464-4655 or contact the Athabasca County Admin Office at 780-675-2273. Weight Restriction on TWP 634 Bridge West of Hwy 2 Please be advised that a weight restriction of5tonnes has been put on the bridge located on Township Road 634 and Range Road 241, west of Highway 2. Weight more than 5 tonnes will need to bypass the bridge. To bypass, vehicles will need to turn south on Range Road 240 or 241, then west on Township Road 632, then north on Range Road 242. The length of this restriction is still being determined
