In many ways, pharmacy professionals' role has grown considerably to respond to patients' needs. This Pharmacy Appreciation Month (PAM) we are encouraging patients to experience the power of pharmacy.

The pharmacy profession involves a complete team of assistants, technicians, and pharmacists. Each job description is different and vital to the patient care experience. It takes each one of us to “just fill that prescription”. We want to ensure accuracy, dependability, and assessments on each prescription. This is to ensure that you receive the best care for yourself and your family.

Your pharmacist provides your medication assessment. They may extend your prescription or adapt to your current need when necessary. You may require a new prescription; the pharmacist may assist you. This can be discussed with your prescribing pharmacist (APA). If you or your family is travelling, speak to a travel trained pharmacist for advice on your vaccine and travel needs. Your pharmacist is also a source to assist you in maintaining your heart health, diabetes management and your blood pressure control. Talk to your pharmacist about your mental health, they can assist you by connecting you to further professional patient care team members to help meet your needs.

Your pharmacist does not just put pills in the bottle or a label on a box. They are here in your community, accessible and wanting to assist you with all of your health care needs. We are front line health care workers. WE ARE PART OF THE HEALTHCARE TEAM.

When we are asked to add more programs to our daily tasks, we do it. When we are asked to learn more so that we can provide advanced services for our patients, we do it.

OUR PATIENT’S HEALTHCARE MATTERS….

YOUR PHARMACIST MATTERS...
