To the Editor:
In the current neutrality by law debate are we missing the bigger issue? Impartiality of elected officials. Can our mayor and council demonstrate they have not violated their council code of ethics?
As stated in clause 3.4.3.1: “If a councillor or board member makes any comment or engages in any activity which is consistent with the councillor or board member being perceived by a reasonable person as not being impartial, this may result in a finding of bias.”
If the mayor and council cannot be impartial how can they be qualified to lecture us on neutrality? I like to believe we elected public servants not politicians or activists.
