WALLACE, DAVID

April 28, 1951 – August 15, 2024

David Alfred Wallace passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, in the Westlock Hospital, after a short battle with advanced liver cancer. He was 73 years old.

Dave will be lovingly remembered by many family and community members. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Wallace, and grandson, Lynx Wallace. He is also survived by his siblings, June, Jean, Leola, and James.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Alfred Wallace.

Dave was born and raised in the Westlock County area, the youngest of five siblings. He spent many years farming in the area or working within the family business SWS. He also taught music lessons in the community for several years and will be remembered fondly by his many students.

Before his cancer diagnosis in 2023, Dave lived an active, happy, and healthy life filled with many adventures, passions, and hobbies. Dave was an avid hunter, gardener, fisherman, and outdoor enthusiast. He was also passionate about guitars, motorcycles, and cooking. He loved to visit the Rocky Mountains and Vancouver Island, where he lived for over a decade while his daughter was young.

As per Dave’s requests, his remains have been cremated and his ashes will be scattered in the Rocky Mountains near Miette Hot Springs, his “favourite place in the world”. Also in respecting his wishes, there will be no memorial service.

Dave will be fishing in heaven and can’t wait to see you all there!
