Lonette “Alice” Schultz
July 29, 1941 - January 15, 2024
The family of Lonette Alice Schultz of Barrhead, AB are saddened to announce her passing on January 15, 2024, at the age of 82 years old.
Alice was born in Gardenview, AB on July 29, 1941 to Albert and Olga Breitkreutz. She was the third of four children. In February 1961 she met Ernest Schultz and married him on June 17, 1961. Together Ernest and Alice began farming and settled down in the Bloomsbury, AB area, where they reside to this day.
Alice was a strong woman of faith and pillar for her family. Like a true farm girl she loved driving the tractor and tending to the farm any way she could. Whether this was milking cows, feeding chickens or growing her garden, she loved to do it all. She stayed busy inside the house as well, her hands were rarely still in the kitchen. She loved to cook, can and bake her special recipes. Although Alice enjoyed a hard day’s work, she also enjoyed her many get-aways with Ernest, from camping in the mountains, to sun-bathing on beaches. When she was not with her family Alice could be found singing the gospel in the community or playing a variety of games with her friends. Her presence and joy was appreciated by many.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Ernest; sons Harvey (Lorna), Marshall, Barry (Shariane); grandchildren Angelyn (Seth Beck), Kevin, Ryan (Meghan), Daniel and Rebecca; great-grandchild Maisie, Sister-in-law, Erma Reihl, Ida (Karl Gildenmeister), Ruth (Oswald Wanagas), Evelyn Breitkreutz.
Predeceased by her parents Albert and Olga Breitkreutz, Brothers Ernest Breitkreutz, Ruddy (Ella) Breitkreutz and a twin sister Loretta Breitkreutz.
The Viewing and the Funeral Service will be held on January 27, 2024, (Viewing 10:00 am, Funeral Service 11:00 am), at the Bethel Pentecostal Church 5410-53 Ave. Barrhead, AB, T7N-1C4.
