Winny Rath
July 15 ,1940 ~ January 17, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, nana, and sister-in-law Winny Rath, age 79, on Friday, January 17 at the Steinbach Bethesda Hospital after a lengthy battle with kidney failure and cancer.
Winny was predeceased by her brothers Dixon and Jim Rath, niece Charlene Nitz, nephew Rodger Rath, nephew Farley Neitz, well as her parents Tillie and Fred Rath.
Winny leaves to cherish her many memories two families: her family by blood that she loved dearly: sister-in-law Inez Rath, sister-in-law Jane Gruble, nephews Floyd Rath and Gene Rath, nieces, Carrie Rath and Joanne (Tom) McKee, and great nieces Darnyll (Lance Jacober) Nitz, Shareen Nitz, Sarah McKee, Kelly McKee, and great great nephew and niece Ethan and Leigh Jacober; as well as her adopted family, the family of lifelong friend Marion and Ed Yoder: Brenda and Darren Fulmore, Betty and Merril Radford, Ray and Mary Yoder, with adopted grandchildren Matthew, Daniel (Kate) and Kaitlin Fulmore, Natasha (Phil) Robertson, Sheldon Radford, and Violet, Isaac, and Phoebe Yoder.
Winny had a sharp wit, a forgiving heart, and a huge love for family and Jesus. She was full of life and loved to help out in whatever way she could. She loved cross-stitching, spending time with family, and volunteering at Southland Church in the kitchen and Information Centre.
According to her wishes, cremation will take place and Winny's final resting place will be at Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach.
Many thanks to the staff at Bethesda Regional Health Centre for their wonderful care in her final weeks.
A celebration of life was held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Garden Lounge in Chinook Village. 2801 13th Ave SE. Medicine Hat, AB. T1A 3R1
