Caroline (Carrie) LaPorte
May 18, 1932 to October 16, 2023
After a life well lived, with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden, but peaceful, passing of our lovely Carrie. We will miss her quick smile and quirky sense of humor.
Carrie was born in Edmonton to Carl and Opal Otto, the third of four girls. Carrie loved her garden and flowers. This most likely came from growing up on farms in Dapp and Paxon, Alberta. Carrie also loved to follow Queen Elizabeth and world events. As a child she did this through scrapbooking. This creative passion later became talents such as needlepoint, knitting, and sewing. Carrie married Art LaPorte in 1956. They had two girls Lorana (Lori) and Michelle. These girls were raised in Swan Hills and Edmonton. Art and Carrie went on to own an oilfield trucking company, Laman Transport Ltd. The family spent their leisure time at the cabin on Calling Lake. Carrie and Art made a great team for almost 60 years.
Sadly Art and Michelle predeceased Carrie.
Carrie will be remembered, with great love, by the many treasured family members and friends she leaves behind.
