ELSE TRUDE AUGUSTE KUBUSCH (nee KRATZ)
Passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, in Barrhead, Alberta.
Else was born in Dinslaken-Lohberg, Germany on December 1, 1932, to the late Peter and Katharina Kratz.
She was the second oldest of nine children, pre-deceased by her sister Hilde, brothers Willi, Werner, and Manfred, and nephew Heinz-Peter. Mourning her passing are her brothers, Peter, Hans, and Heinz, and her sister Ursula.
Else leaves behind her children Peter, Gert (Chris), Heinz (Heather), Werner, and Kathy. Numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren are also in mourning.
Else married the late Heinz Kubusch in 1958 and they moved to Canada where they settled in Camp Creek to farm and raise a family. Life was hard for most farm families those days, and Else was up for the task. She would make life enjoyable for her children, despite having little wealth. She loved her family with all of her heart, and was loved back by her immediate family, and the dozens of friends and family which she adopted over the years. In later years, Else and Heinz moved into Barrhead, where life was easier, and she was able to visit more with friends and family from Germany.
Else’s family was her life. She was generous with her time and money. She cared for her loved ones until her last day. Her children, their spouses, all grandchildren and great-grandchildren, meant everything to her. She would welcome every one of them with her huge heart and loving arms. Her greatest asset was her sense of humor; she would always find time to enjoy a joke. Family get-togethers were filled with an abundance of food, love, and laughter. Else had no regrets, she had a life well lived, with meaning and purpose.
At Else’s request, there will be no service held.
